Bastide Blanche Bandol Cuvee Fontaneou 2010

Chateau De Pibarnon Bandol Blanc 2014

You are more likely to encounter hen's teeth than a Bandol Blanc on an Aussie wine list. Mainly this is because the white wines of Bandol account for just five per cent of this appellation's wines and most are snapped up by local restaurants and cafes. Pibarnon make a wonderful example that shouldn't be missed. The Estate's white vineyards occupy a few hectares of a north-facing, c .....

Chateau De Pibarnon Bandol Rouge 2011

As usual, this is a blend of 90 per cent Mourvèdre and 10 per cent Grenache, the latter particularly low yielding and concentrated in 2011. It is aged in large, old oak foudres for 18 months before blending and bottling without fining or filtration. This cuvée is a fabulous success in 2011, a nigh-on perfect expression of a fine, balanced vintage. Although this is tremendously elegan .....

Chateau De Pibarnon Restanques Bandol Rouge 2012

Les Restanques is the junior cuvée of Château De Pibarnon - it is the wine of a single, 4ha site that sits more than 200m above sea level. Restanques is the local name for the hillside terraces on which the vineyards are planted and this site typically produces a lusher, silkier style of Bandol when young so it doesn't quite make the same old bones as the cuvée classique be .....

Chateau Riotor Rose 2013

Made from a blend of 40% Grenache, 50% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. A poster boy for the rosé revolution if ever there was one. This vintage sees it in blinding form too.Yum yum.   Classic Provence Rosé. If anything this vintage seems even brighter and even more crisp than usual, the acid really driving the palate forward, matched to some lovely strawberry fruit (in a quit .....

Chateau Sainte Anne Bandol Blanc 2011

"A blend of 50% Ugni Blanc and 50% Clairette. A reserved nose of dried white flowers with savoury white liquorice/white spice. The fruit is subtle but still very fresh. Minerality too. The medium weighted palate is a bit more expressive with zesty citrus, pear and peach, Delicious sweet spice and pithy pear and quince fruit. Very long complex to finish." - Importer's Note

Chateau Sainte Anne Bandol Rosé 2011

"Delicate scent of dried peony rose, red berry and intense chalky minerality. Quite evolved and complex, almost secondary. Minerality continues to be the focus on the palate, dominating the red cherry and wild raspberry fruit expression. Finishes delicate and textural." - Importer's Note

Chateau Sainte Anne Cotes de Provence Rouge 2009

"A roughly equal split between Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan. Ripe fruits of blackberry, dark cherry and plums. Seems fresher than the Bandol but it doesn't have the same level of minerality or savoury complexity and this is why. The palate is supple with fine grainy tannins, a good depth of dark berry fruits and sweet spices finishing with a sanguine mineral note.&quo .....

Guffens Rose Pourquoi Pas 2012

Screwcap. Rosalind, Shakespeare's heroine in As You Like It, famously asked, "Can one desire too much of a good thing?" We asked ourselves the very same thing when confronted with the option of importing a third rosé from the hand of Guffens. As it turned out Guffens had already pre-empted our answer by naming the wine Pourquoi pas? (Why not?) How could we refuse? Here Guffens .....

Verget Vin de France Blanc Au Fil du Temps NV

Jean-Marie purchased his Provençal estate, Château des Tourettes, in 1997. It is located a few kilometres from the beautiful 'Roman' market town of Apt, at an altitude of 420 metres, in the foothills of the stunning Luberon Mountain chain. Not one known for doing it by the book, in classic Guffens style he immediately set about ruffling the feathers of his neighbours and the A .....
