Cooper Burns Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre 2009

The wine is cherry red in colour with vibrant purple hues. The nose is wonderfully lifted and perfumed, displaying intense aromas of Turkish Delight, strawberry, blackberry, violets, musk, sandalwood, licorice and a touch of mint and clove spice. The medium bodied palate floods the mouth with those beautiful red berry flavours typical of the Grenache variety. A layered wine with a tight structur .....

Cooper Burns Shiraz 2012

93 Points Wine Front

"Perfumed, black fruit and boysenberry, brown spices and a bit of chocolate and mint. Medium bodied, flood of sweet fruit, supple fine grained tannin and even acidity – very well balanced – has  finesse, yet delivers the big Barossa hit. Silky length with toast and dried herb to close. Really one of those 93.5 point wines where you could round up, or down, depending." 93 .....

First Drop Mother's Milk Shiraz 2015

"Not a sledgehammer style, this Barossa Shiraz is made for drinking! Soft, slurpy and textured it is balanced with good acidity, which refreshes the palate and makes you go back for a second / third glass. Sourced from 2 unique vineyards, it is fruit laden, savoury and dangerously easy to drink! It is matured for 15 months in 100% old French oak hogsheads to allow the fruit to express itsel .....

Fruits of the Vine 'Le Grenache... et son frère' Grenache, Mouvedre 2011

2011 vintage conditions did not allow us to make a carbonic Beaujolais inspired style of Grenache this year but "we did manage to access hand- picked parcels of Mourvèdre (1/3rd) and Grenache (2/3rds) at the same time, which we destemmed, leaving the berries whole, and naturally co- fermented with only gentle hand plunging and light temperature control to preserve freshness. Light pr .....

Hewitson Baby Bush Mourvedre 2014

93 Points Wine Companion

"Dark and spicy, weaving black olive and licorice flavors into the black cherry and spice character, lifting slightly on the fine-grained finish. Drink now through 2017. 1,000 cases imported." 88 Points Wine Spectator "On twitter yesterday, Dean Hewitson (I think), noted that the old vine Mataro was picked yesterday – April 10 – late ripening variety. Hewitson Miss Harry Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre Cinsault Carignan 2014

"Lithe and appealing, with tea leaf and orange peel accents around a sleek core of red berry flavors. The finish lingers effortlessly against refined tannins. Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Carignane and Cinsault. Best from 2015 through 2020. 1,500 cases imported." 91 Points Wine Spectator "Perfume of dried herbs and flowers, meat, cherry, mixed berry – not too sweet. Th .....

Hewitson Ned n Henrys Shiraz Mourvedre 2016

"Blackfruit and mocha, though it’s not particularly oaky I hasten to add, earth, orange peel and spicy bits. Medium bodied, nicely pitched wine with some hazelnut  and raspberry,  glossy texture, fine tannin and juicy acidity. Pretty good. Pulls a little bitter on the finish. Likely to improve with a little more time in bottle." 91 Points Wine Front "The grapes were .....

Hewitson Old Garden Mourvedre 2013

"Made with grapes dry-grown in the oldest Mourvedre vineyard in the world – touting vines planted in 1853 – the 2010 Old Garden Mourvedre is medium deep garnet-purple in color. This wine is intensely scented of warm mulberries and black cherries with underlying cigar box, allspice, vanilla and potpourri suggestions. Full-bodied and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, it explodes wi .....

Landhaus Classics Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

"It’s a saucy little devil for sure. Ripe black cherry, plum, chocolate, dried mint and saucy spices, and while it’s full bodied, sweetly fruited and plump, it isn’t a heavy or over-bearing style. There’s a little tang to the acidity, fine ripe lightly chalky tannin and good depth and concentration, with an ample long finish. Good Barossa Cabernet." 92 Points G .....

Laughing Jack Greenock Shiraz 2012

"The Laughing Jack vineyard is a small parcel of the Kalleske's 85 acres of young and old vine. The soil here is well drained red sandy loam over a broken clay base. The vine roots extend deeply into the soil in search of water in this dry environment producing sparse yields of small berried clusters. Dark and tarry Barossa Shiraz with plenty of plum and prune. Great conc .....

Laughing Jack Jack's Shiraz 2014

The grapes were de-stemmed and 80% of the berries were crushed, while 20% were kept whole, before being transferred into open top fermenters. Fermentation was kept on the cooler side and juice pumped over the skins twice a day for 10 to 14 days. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 16 months in French and American oak - 60% French (100% seasoned), 38% American (5% new) and 2% new Hungarian oa .....

Magpie Estate The Call Bag Grenache Mourvedre 2010

93 Points Wine Companion

The original ‘Estate Red' first produced back in 1993 by Magpie Estate. This is a perfect blend of Mourvèdre's stoic savoury personality and Grenache's sweet opulence. Billiard ball red colour. A deep nose of red cherry, kirsch, chocolate, liquorice and old spice drawer with an earthy note. Medium to full. Begins with heavier spice and tar flavours then fans out with layer .....

Magpie Estate The Fakir Grenache 2010

A rich Barossa Grenache with notes of red cherry/kirsch, raspberry and licorice framed by sweet French oak spice. Lovely silky palate entry with sweet kirsch, Satsuma plum and raspberry flavours bursting across the tongue. Tannins are soft and a secondary thought really but they provide just enough grip to offset the fruit's effusiveness. Spicy nutmeg and liquorice finish. "Very light cr .....

"Good purple-red hue; has a mix of spicy/savoury aromas and flavours set among the red berry fruits and well-balanced tannins; quality French oak and a dash of shiraz also contribute. Deep, rich and supple in texture, offering sweet blueberry and boysenberry flavors and slow-building spiciness. Suave floral notes carry through a long, velvety finish of impressive clarity."

Rolf Binder Bulls Blood Shiraz Mataro Pressings 2010

93 Points Wine Companion

"A wine that's been around since Adam was a boy; for those who don't know it, the supple, medium-bodied palate with its plum and cherry fruit, subtle oak and fine tannins will come as a grave disappointment if they (reasonably) expect a monstrous red wine. Instead they end up with studied elegance courtesy of bright juicy fruit and fine tannins." 93 Points Wine Companion "A .....

This is our premium wine - very special and somewhat rare. We make it from a single section on our Chri'ro Estate next to the winery, called the Hanisch Vineyard. There are just over four acres of vines and the yield, and therefore production, varies from year to year.    "A deep red-purple, this is a very rich fruit-forward wine, showing some oak and spice. Rolf Binder Heinrich Shiraz Mataro Grenache 2010

94 Points Wine Companion

"Composed of Shiraz 60%, Mataro 25% and Grenache 15%, the 2010 Heinrich Shiraz Mataro Grenache has a medium to deep garnet color and exudes aromas of dried mulberries and red plum preserves with hints of Provencal herbs, black and white pepper and dusty earth.
