"(80% aged in oak) Exotic soft citrus scents complicated by acacia flower, vanilla and smoky oak. Sweet and spicy but quite tight and imploded today. This big boy is very densely packed but I wouldn't describe it as classic Chablis grand cru. Grew sweeter in the mid-palate with aeration but still finished uncompromisingly dry. This will require a lot of time to open."

"Here the wood is a good deal more obvious though again, less than what I have experienced with this wine in the past. The nose is quite ripe with exotic and perfumed white flower aromas and the wood influence continues onto the huge, rich, robust and powerful flavors that really soak the palate with massive amounts of dry extract. This is a big Chablis by any standard if not a exactly a classic example but there's no doubting the quality of the raw materials even if I can't warm up to the style as the wood rounds off the finish somewhat. Still, for fans of power Chablis, this is your E-ticket to ride."
