"Showcasing the eponymous vineyard in Ludes, Bereche’s 2006 Brut Le Cran – co-starring Pinot and Chardonnay, with Meunier in support – leads with bittersweet perfume of iris and cooling, high-toned herbal inflections including mint. A subtle mingling of decadent lees, sourdough yeasts, and almost Furmint-like nasal twang of buckwheat add pungent and piquant interest, translating into corresponding complexity on a creamy yet brightly lemony palate. This finishes with impressively interactive length and leaves no question that – in this instance – three grams of residual sugar was quite enough. I suspect it will be best enjoyed over the next three years. "

"50:50 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the middle of 2 chalk rich hillsides in Ludes. Disgorged in Jan 2012. 3 g/l dosage and 35 ppm SO2 total. White flowers, white mushrooms, dried cream, forest floor, and spice. Complex but pure. Creamy chalky citrusy palate with amazing length and concentration." Importers Note
