"One of the highlights in this set of new releases, the 2006 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Minéral boasts a serious core of pure density and fruit. This is an especially powerful, authoritative Champagne graced with superb purity of fruit backed up with intense layers of buffering acidity and minerality. Hazelnuts, dried pears, smoke and crushed rocks are some of the nuances that linger on the muscular, resonant finish. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this precious Champagne, but I am also tempted to cellar a few bottles of the 2006 just to see how it develops over the next handful of years. The 2006 was made from parcels in Les Champboutons (Avize) and Les Bionnes (Cramant). Agrapart fermented the wine in neutral 600 liter barrels. Dosage was 4 grams per liter. Disgorged June 2012."

"As always, this comes from the same two parcels, blended in equal proportions: Avize Le Champ Bouton is vinified in tank, while Cramant Bionnes is made in demi-muid. This bottle was disgorged only a couple weeks before I tasted it, dosed at slightly over 3g/l, yet it's already showing a sleek harmony and richly expressive fragrance. Its fruit flavors lie in the green spectrum-fresh pear, apple, green citrus-although it also feels concentrated and full in body on the palate. It persists on the finish with excellent length, its vibrant, expansive aromas intertwined with saline minerality, and it should become even more complex with a few years in the cellar."

"This is blended from two vineyards of similar terroir: Le Champ Bouton in Avize, which is fermented in tank, and Bionnes in Cramant, vinified in 600-liter oak casks. While it shows the depth and amplitude of the vintage, its flavors of apple, white peach and orange citrus are unusually high-toned, feeling delicately poised despite their concentration. It's all pinned down by laser-like acidity, producing a clean, kinetic tension on the palate, and it's thoroughly saturated by aromas of chalk, particularly on the long, finely-detailed finish. It's an excellent 2005, and should be long-lived. Last tasted: 11/11"

"The 2005 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Mineral is breathtaking. The wine emerges from parcels in Avize (Les Champboutons) and Cramant (Les Bionnes) and is fermented in 600-liter barrels. The 2005 Mineral bursts from the glass with racy Chardonnay fruit that covers every inch of the palate. The aromas and flavors remain clean, crisp and beautifully articulated from start to finish. This is a broad-shouldered wine that nevertheless keeps its focus. The balance of ripeness from the year and the inherent minerality of these limestone-rich, old-vine parcels is terrific. This is a stunning wine in every way. Dosage was 4 grams per liter. Disgorged July 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025."
