Avizoise is sourced from vines of up to 60 years old in the clay-rich (argilo-calcaire) coteaux d'Avize vineyards of Les Robarts and Les Gros Yeux. The richer soils in these two neighbouring sites give a deeper, more powerful and textured expression of Avize than the Minéral. Again, the 2012 is simply stunning although it is still tightly wound for now. Expect a super-complex wine with huge intensity, floral and mixed citrus fruit and a super-long, pithy, chalky close. The wine was aged entirely in 600-litre demi-muid, and the fermentation in bottle was carried out under cork rather than crown seal. Dosage is 3 g/L and the 2012 spent around 70 months on lees. A profound wine.  

"Derived from soils rich in clays with a high internal surface area toward the top of the slope in Avize, Agrapart's 2012 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Avizoise was disgorged in May 2019 with three grams per liter dosage after aging sur lattes under natural cork. Bursting with aromas of waxy citrus rind, beeswax, Anjou pear, white flowers and nutmeg, it's full-bodied, broad and powerful, with considerable concentration and chalky structuring extract, girdled by ripe but racy acids and concluding with a long, expansive finish.
