Product Description

"Berlou is one of only two cru of Saint Chinian and is generally considered the appellation’s finest terroir. A blend of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache aged largely in old barrels. Nice deep red colour. Lovely aromatic notes. Still very fresh a primary. Spiced plum, ironstone minerals, strong garrigue. Opens with light oak note as JMR bought some new oak in 2006 for rotation. A little more modern and very youthful still. Elegant as usual for JMR. Light oak spice, dried bouquet garni, ripe but not sweet red berry and plum fruit. Fresh juicy acidity and fine lightly raspy tannins. This will improve for some time yet. For the table of keeping for 2-3 years more." - Importer's Note
