"Blanchot Vieilles Vignes: (100% vinified in wood; Billaud is of the belief that Blanchot is the most mineral-dominated cru in Chablis, indeed so much so that it can be a brutal and violent wine that must be "tamed" by the wood, hence the different vinification philosophy; the Billaud vines directly abut Les Clos). Billaud indicated that this would be bottled in late June or early July. A moderately toasty nose does not dominate the white flower, citrus, stone and seaweed-infused aromas that marry into rich, intense and impressively concentrated big-bodied though not necessarily overtly muscular flavors that also brim with ample amounts of palate coating dry extract on the dazzlingly persistent finish."
