Product Description

A simple, yet honest wine", says Aljoscha, "it's a blend of sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon and merlot, but depends a bit about what we have available at the time of harvest, but I feel free with this wine, it's not in competition with our Chiantis". Produced in stainless steel, with an understanding that the fruit is grown and harvested specifically for this wine. Spicy, bright red fruit character, big dash of cinnamon and anise kind of sour/sweetness, with a sprig of amaro herbal scent. Juicy, gently sweet, decked out with fine, soft, sandy tannins, but with the feel of a wine that is meant to be drunk with gusto. Red fruit and more of the balanced, sour/sweetness rides the palate, and the wine finishes in a fine pucker. Super drinking."

Corzano E Paterno IGT Rosso Il Corzanello 2011

Named after the medieval fortified farmhouse on the property Il Corzanello is made from a blend of 60% Sangiovese, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot that has been hand harvested and matured in tank only. This is a terrific little Tuscan value: racy and fresh with floral and herb crusted red fruit aromatics and a succulent, open knit palate. Call it vineyard over varietal; even the Cabernet in this blend seems to have taken on an Italianate cherry + fresh herb character. The mouthful is tender and juicy and the highly perfumed fruit culminates in a mouth watering finish that invites the next sip. Ready for drinking now, this medium bodied red is the kind of wine where one bottle is rarely enough. A wine for all occasions."  Importer's Note
