Barossa Valley, SA
"A benchmark wine to assess the quality of the Barossa vintage, this 2012 leads strongly with Grenache (78%) then Mataro (10%), Cinsault (6%), Shiraz (4%) and Carignan (2%). The nose has red fruits in abundance, attractive sweet musky notes and a fine spicy lift – striking freshness here. The palate is pared back to essence-like red fruit wrapped tight around a core of driving tannins. Captiviating definition and detail, the Barossa doesn’t get much better than this."

Spinifex Esprit 2010
"There’s not a ripple or crease to delineate each of the varieties in this consummately crafted blend of mataro, shiraz, grenache and cinsault. The florals and spices on display here are exotic and captivating: dried flowers, red cherries, greengage plums, mixed spice and pepper. The delight of the bouquet flows all the way through the palate, carried by a finely structured, silky backbone of carefully textured tannins."
