Product Description

Soft plum red. Still a puppy with a little fat of youth. Starts with exuberant berry fruits but then becomes a little more reticent in the Burgundy style - you feel the fruit but cannot see it so obviously. Nutty oak and some stony minerality. Great energy and promise. Silky palate entry with lovely sweet and tart mineral fruits finishing with a peacock's tail structure as it becomes more expansive towards the end. This is young but has amazing concentration that numbs the back of the throat and a structure that is fine but perfectly supportive of the long flavours. This will be amazing at its peak and is already delicious.

Yields are kept to around 750 grams per vine to ensure perfect ripeness, grapes are handpicked and carefully processed to retain whole berries and a portion of whole bunches. After relatively warm ferments with natural yeasts the must is basket pressed off skins after 3 weeks maceration and run straight to French oak barriques and puncheons, 25% of which are new, to age on fine lees for 12 months. It is bottled without fining or filtration.
