"The 2014 Mâcon Villages Terres de Pierres has a clean but light bouquet that feels just a little anonymous compared to its peers. But with aeration it develops some attractive tertiary notes. The palate is clean and fresh, nicely balanced with well-judged acidity, leading to a harmonious and taut, refreshing finish. This is a crafted, assured Mâcon Villages."

Verget Macon Village Terres de Pierres 2012
Terres de Pierres is a premium version of the Mâcon-Villages previously shipped a few years back. Made entirely from free-run juice, this wine comes from the most stoney, chalky soils - Terres de Pierres means rocky soils - in Charnay (20 per cent), Pierreclos (20 per cent) and Viré (60 per cent). It was vinified entirely in horizontal stainless-steel tanks. The 2012 blend is deliciously perfumed and textured, with ripe stone fruit notes balanced by a racy streak of lemony acidity. Similar complexion to the 2011 though clearly more extract and length of flavour.
