"The 2010 Barolo Ravera di Monforte is a gorgeous expression with an added layer of bold fruit intensity compared to the "base" Barolo made from an assembly of fruit from the Serralunga d’Alba township. That added intensity comes through in pulses of dark spice, leather and tobacco. In the mouth, the wine shows dark fruit and a touch of sour cherry. Drink: 2016-2028."

Darker in colour, fragrant, earth, berry fruits. Taste of soil, fine and grippy tannin. Structured yet round and delicate. Unusual elegance for vintage. Excellent

75+ year old vines. 1-1.5kg per plant.

1 month fermentation. No temperature control. Matured in Barrique (old) for 2 years. No filtration, no clarification. 14%. 1,600 bottles on average.

Planted in 1934 by Ferdinando’s Grandfather using exclusively the ‘Michet’ clone of Nebbiolo (very small bunches). Extremely steep, clay soils producing more structured Nebbiolo. Also a cooler site than Boscareto.
