This wine shows the purity of fruit and balance, combined with concentration, that this vineyard can achieve with Pinot Noir. There is terrific brightness of fruit, with strawberry compote and blueberry notes, and a depth of flavour that comes without any heaviness or over-extraction.
Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir reflects the cool maritime climate of Tasmania's Coal River Valley, and the site itself, a gently sloping site with a southerly aspect, with light silica over sandstone. The result is a beautifully aromatic and textured Pinot Noir, with intensity, power, purity and complexity.

Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013
"Bright, clear crimson; the bouquet is at once powerful, yet eloquently varietal in precisely the same fashion as the palate; black cherry and plum lead the way, red fruits bringing up the rear; it has exceptional intensity and drive, with fine tannins reminiscent of those of top flight Burgundy."

Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012
"The grapes were hand-picked, open-fermented (75% destemmed, 25% whole bunches), spending 10 days on skins with limited pump overs, then pressed straight to French oak barriques (25% new). The wine has a perfumed super-fragrant bouquet, the black cherry fruit of the very long palate gaining another degree of intensity and complexity on the finish and aftertaste. A classic peacock’s tail."
