Picking at optimum ripeness along with gentle handing and slow fermentation at cool temperatures is key to capturing the pure essence of Riesling aroma and flavours. The aroma leaps out of the glass filling the air with the gorgeous, delicate floral aromas of fresh flowers. The fine, elegant palate is alive with bright, rippling, juicy citrus flavours reminiscent of lemons and limes. The finish is deliciously satisfying, crisp and long. Winery Note
Tasmanian Riesling rightfully has many fans as the island state often produces wines of pristine fruit purity with hallmark natural acidity. This is something quite different - a rare, reductive expression of the variety with a sensibility usually found in softly-oaked, very expensive French Chardonnays. Pale and youthful yellow colour from centre to rim, Sulfides and lemon essence, a heady and well-measured tease of artifice. Pristine fruit, loads of drive, lemon essence carries through to the back hinges of the palate. A wine of unique character. Riesling's answer to Meursault. (Screwcap)
