"Ferments with natural yeast and spends time on skins while being produced in an off-dry style. The name kinda fits, right? It’s June and we’re drinking wine from January – I wish this wine spent a little more time resting before being sent out as I reckon it will look much better; it was put into a blind line-up as sent for review now, one assumes. Tasted over two days.
Perfume is good, citrus, grass and toffee apples. Jangly and unsettled to taste – rips of sweetness and chalky texture, grassy then honeyed. Has a burst of refreshment, then the cloy of sugar kicks in and through the finish a peppery-on-lettuce bitter greenery. There is a coolness and crispness to the wine that appeals."
