Product Description

From a bunch of little parcels within a combination of vineyards at varying in distance from the ocean. 20%-ish was whole-bunch across these, all had a little bit in them at least. It was a lovely growing season, timely rain events, and then a fantastic window of picking in the Tamar opened up.  Some of the wines were racked early, some were left on lees until the last minute. After blending it was left on light lees for another month in reorganised oak, then racked again and bottled in-house, no filtration.  Really wonderful vintage in the north of the state.

The TMV Pinot Noir is a snapshot of the Tamar Valley in any given year, using the fundamental Two Tonne style. In 2019, the wine is a blend of three separate Tamar vineyards, with the majority of the fruit coming from Ricky Evans own block, micro blended across clones, and wholebunch fermentation. There's some floral notes, lavender and sage. Perky mouthfeel and sweet cherry fruit which leads to a campari and gently bitter finish. Refreshing and delicious Pinot Noir here.

In both 2016 & 2017, Ricky was a finalist in the Young Gun's of Wine Competion, and managed to take out the coveted 'People's Choice' Award in 2016.
