"Francis Egly is one of the top handful of Champagne growers on everyone’s lips in the region at the moment, and rightfully so. His Brut Tradition is signature Egly – brilliantly crafted yet capturing the power of low yielding pinot noir in champagnes finest villages, within a profile of fresh definition and mineral character. A wonderfully expressive personality of red fruits, wild strawberries and cherries meshes with notes of vanilla and the taut definition of lemon zest, pulling into a scintillating and eminently textured finish, reflecting both its oak fermentation and the mineral structure of Egly’s magnificently positioned vineyards."

"The NV Brut Tradition Grand Cru possesses gorgeous warmth and openness in a radiant, broad-shouldered style that is impossible to resist. Deep and textured through to the finish, the Tradition Grand Cru combines richness and minerality with notable finesse. Spice and smoke nuances add complexity on the dazzling finish. The Brut Tradition Grand Cru spent 36 months on its lees prior to being disgorged in July, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2011-20118."

"Perhaps the best introduction to the wines of Francis Egly - this is a wine that does not require any bottle age. It is stunning right now! This is all about Grand Cru, low yield Pinot Noir. Natural fermentation with wild yeasts only. The first period of the élevage lasts almost one year, with the wine remaining on its fine lees. The composition comprises 50% from the 2006 vintage with 20% 2005, 20% 2004 and 10% 2003. The wines clarify slowly, as was once typical across the region. 20% of the wine is fermented in oak casks. Dosage is a low 3 to 4 grams per litre. It is the wine we order and receive the most of although demand still vastly outstrips supply." - Importer's Note
