"Perhaps the best introduction to the wines of Francis Egly - this is a wine that does not require any bottle age. It is stunning right now! This is all about Grand Cru, low yield Pinot Noir. Natural fermentation with wild yeasts only. The first period of the élevage lasts almost one year, with the wine remaining on its fine lees. The composition comprises 50% from the 2006 vintage with 20% 2005, 20% 2004 and 10% 2003. The wines clarify slowly, as was once typical across the region. 20% of the wine is fermented in oak casks. Dosage is a low 3 to 4 grams per litre. It is the wine we order and receive the most of although demand still vastly outstrips supply." - Importer's Note
