750 mL Bottle
The wines were vinified in casks, on the lees, with regular bâtonnage and were blended to produce Cuvée n° 737. 2009 provides the backbone of the Cuvée; the reserve wines, comprising 30% of the final blend, come mainly from the great 2008 vintage to which we added some wines from the Cuvées n° 735 and 736 which we have kept back specially for this purpose. With Avize and Oiry in the Côte des Blancs, and Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers in the Grande Vallée de la Marne, our Cuvée consists entirely of Grands and Premiers Crus and comprises of 43% Chardonnay, 27% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. Cuvée n° 737 underwent no filtration at all.

Jacquesson Cuvee 736
"The planets aligned in 2008, when the vintage of the decade coincided with Jacquesson’s tearing up of every contract for fruit that wasn’t up to scratch. It goes without saying that this is the finest 700 series release from Jacquesson yet, but it’s more than that: its breathtaking elegance and electric brilliance position it firmly among Champagne’s very finest entry NVs this year. The coiled expression of 2008 is encapsulated in concentrated focus of lemon blossom, lemon zest, granny smith apple and white peach. A beautifully linear and chiselled champagne of brilliant mineral presence and fresh lemon acidity, finishing very long, never hard, with structure seamlessly entwined with lingering citrus and stone fruits. Its sheer endurance will make for an exceedingly long life."

"The back label tells all: 66% 2008, 34% '07 and '06; 53% chardonnay, 29% pinot noir, 18% vinified in casks with stirring prior to tirage; four years on tirage; 1.5g/l dosage. Has a tapestry of flavours, but also a shaft of green apple/lemon acidity spearing through the length of the palate, leaving the finish as fresh as a spring day. One glass is definitely not enough, and you can afford more."

Jacquesson Cuvee 735
"This is a fabulous set of wines from Jacquesson. The house’s Champagnes are distinguished by their textural elegance and sheer pedigree."
"An overtly yeasty and positively stunningly complex nose is comprised of apple, pear and soft floral aromas. The firmly effervescent flavors enjoyed the same striking complexity as telegraphed by the nose and the sheer persistence is seriously impressive. A knockout and a great value."

"The NV Brut Cuvee N° 735 is a gorgeous, fleshy wine laced with radiant fruit. Lemon, white flowers, spices and crushed rocks are some of the notes that inform this deep, satisfying Champagne. A round, creamy finish wraps things up in style. The 735 got better and better over time, always a good sign. The 735 is 72% 2007 juice, 47% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier. It is a bit richer, rounder and more immediate than the 734, not a bad thing for a wine meant to be enjoyed on the young side. This bottle was disgorged in the first quarter, 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015."
