Cigliuti

The Fratelli Cigliuti winery is situated on the Serroboella hill some 350 metres above sea level over looking the village of Nieve, one of three villages responsible for producing Barbaresco. Renato inherited his fathers 6.5 hectare property which remains family owned and run and s now into its fifth generation with daughters Claudia and Sylvia.

Wine making techniques lean towards the more traditional style, while stainless steel is used for germentation, larger Slovenian oak barrels are mainly used along with some smaller barriques. Soils in the vineyards are made up of calcareous clay, along with site and aspect, the wines show great complexity, minerality and personality.
