The Sottimano winery was founded by Maggiore Sottimano in 1974. Now in the hands of father and son, Rino and Andrea Sottimano, this estate is producing outstanding wines. Starting with a cellar and vineyard in The Cotta area, the estate has now grown to 13 hectares, with vineyard sites throughout Barbaresco - in Currá, Fausoni, Pajoré and Basarin. As of 1990, the vineyards are fully organic. Particular attention is paid to the care in the vineyards, focus on low yields to produce wines with great structure and ageability. Minimum handling is used in their making, using only natural yeasts. Wines are bottled without fining or filtration.
